specifying pcb mount transformers
Typically these work well in the 20 to 160 VA power range, but other power sizes are available. Contact Plitron engineering to discuss custom designed transformers. See also Plitron’s standard line of PCB mounted transformers for size ranges, pin outs, and dimensions on case sizes.
PCB Mounts Can Enhance Product Quality and Lower Costs
• Clean Precision Manufacturing – Fully encapsulated and environmentally sealed transformer assemblies with pinned bases can plug directly into your boards for soldering.
• Magnetic Consistency and High Repeatability – PCB mounts ensure the locations are fixed for current carrying components – The need for lead assemblies can be reduced or eliminated. Precise, consistent, and repeatable placement of current carrying conductors in your product can simplify board layouts, as well as do away with issues related to interaction between routed lead wires and sensitive proximate circuit components.
• Additional Mechanical Support Included – Five screw holes are included if additional mechanical support is needed. (4 x corner, 1 x Central)
• Eliminates External Lead-Dressing Components – Bases have up to 28 separated pinned positions, for which any number can be utilized and configured to your specs. Product costs can be reduced through elimination of peripheral secondary lead-dressing components such as input voltage selectors, connectors, sockets, wire ties, grommets, etc.
