RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC restricts the use of six hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. All applicable products in the EU market after July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance. RoHS impacts the entire electronics industry.
This directive restricts the use of six substances that may be present in the materials used in the manufacturing of Electronic and Electrical equipment. The six materials are: (i) Lead, (ii) Cadmium, (iii) Mercury, (iv) Hexavalent Chromium, (v) Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), (vi) Polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE).
PLITRON can now supply toroidal transformers labeled and compliant to the requirements of the RoHS directive.
